Where Do Your Pledges Go?

We are very proud of what our volunteers are able to give back
and offer our community through the ASO-Halton Chapter.

Money raised through your pledges goes directly towards
supporting our activities in Halton including:

Recreational Programs

       We are very proud to say we partner with the City of Burlington
       (Parks & Rec. Dept.), Healthy Community Fund & Variety Village
       to offer some of the following programs:

       Recreational swim program
       Wet & Wonderful Wednesdays (8-14 yrs) after school gym & swim
       Summer baseball and soccer league
       March Break Day Camp
       Camp Wannago  (Summer Day Camp)
       Social outings for Parents
       Adult yearly Christmas Party
       Children’s yearly Christmas Party

       Community Awareness / Fundraising

       We participate yearly in the following:

       The Early Childhood Resource Teacher Network Convention
       Sound of Music Festival in Burlington
       Downtown Oakville’s yearly Midnight Madness Event
       Cogeco Cable - Neighbour-to-Neighbour Talk Show
       Local Rotary Clubs – we are invited to speak on autism at their
                                            meetings
       Cycle for Autism
       Provincial Toonie for Autism Day

Advocacy / Support

       SEAC (Special Education Advisory Committee)
           - Representation on both school boards & on the Autism
             Task Force Committee.
       Quarterly newsletters
       E-mail: weekly information mail outs & support connection
       Lending Library of books & video’s on autism
       Ongoing educational workshops in partnership with H.A.R.T.
       for parents, professionals and education staff
      Monthly support group for Parents
          - with access to a behavioural therapist
       Asperger’s Friends Network (AFN)
          - offers planned outings & social opportunities for children
